Erika Block lives in Vancouver, B.C., and received her BM and MM in Clarinet Performance at Boston University. Her principal teachers have been Thomas Martin and Ricardo Morales.

Chuck Currie
In addition to Superstyk, Chuck performs and records with the Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Vancouver Island Symphony, Sax Noir, and The Best Coast Bass Clarinet Quartet. Chuck has performed at Canadian Music Educator Association conventions, the World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles conferences, the North American Saxophone Alliance conferences and at the International Clarinet Association.
(Clarinet and Saxophone) He teaches at his own Sax Noir Studio, and conducts clinics and master classes throughout British Columbia. His students have auditioned successfully for the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra, the British Columbia Honor Orchestra, the UBC School of Music, and the National Youth Band of Canada. Tom Puwalski
Tom’s varied musical interests have led to a lifetime of musical study. Not only has he performed all over the world with the U.S. Army Field Band as their most featured soloist but he is also the author of a wonderful book “The Clarinetists Guide to Klezmer”. He is a founding member of SuperStyk and regularly performs with his own group
The Atonement throughout the Baltimore/Washington area, where he resides.
(Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Wind Synthesizer) Tom’s musical philosophy is to bring live music to everyone while breaking down the traditional barriers that exist between musical styles and genres. It also serves as the basic musical philosophy for SuperStyk. |

Alan Lawson
Alan Lawson has played for many major Las Vegas headliners as well as over thirty Broadway shows. He has performed with the Baltimore Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Nevada Wind Ensemble and the Jerry Lewis National MDA Telethon Orchestra. (Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone) Alan has a BM of clarinet performance and education from the Peabody Conservatory and an MM in clarinet performance with an emphasis in composition from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His teachers have included Ignatius Gennusa, Leon Russianoff, Raphael Saunders, Chris Wolfe, Joseph Viola, and Hank Levy. Alan, who resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, was the director of jazz bands at the Las Vegas Academy of International Studies and Performing Arts High School. He also was an adjunct instructor at Essex Community College and the University of Nevada. Currently, Alan is the arranger/director for Superstyk. Alan's website is at www.alan-lawson.com |
